Hog Roast Catering. Thirty years of reputation, finally online.

A family-run hog roast company that has been feeding weddings and parties since 1991, with a five-star hygiene rating and a loyal following, but no catering website worthy of it. I built one on WordPress to turn that reputation into bookings.

The business had everything a website needs to sell: a story, a product people love and reviews to prove it. Family run since 1991, hogs from a local butcher, a five-star Food Standards Agency rating and customers who come back year after year. What it lacked was a site that said any of that to someone searching for a hog roast in Cambridgeshire.

The brief was a complete build: show the food and the family properly, make the menus and the booking process clear, and be found across the towns the team actually drives to. Appetite first, then a very easy way to enquire.

The approach.

Lead with the food, make booking simple, and rank in every town the van goes to.

Let the food and the family sell it.

The design puts the hog, the crackling and the people front and centre, with the three things customers care about, fresh, local and five-star rated, stated in the first screen. Real reviews from real weddings and garden parties carry the trust, and the family story explains why thirty years of customers keep coming back. Nothing generic, because the business is not.

  • Appetite-led design around the food
  • Proof up front: fresh, local, five-star hygiene rating
  • Real reviews from real events

Make enquiring a three-step job.

Get in touch, confirm the booking, enjoy the day: the process is spelled out so a couple planning a wedding knows exactly what happens next. Menus are proper pages rather than PDFs, so they read on a phone and rank on Google, and the phone number and booking button are never more than a tap away.

  • Clear three-step booking process
  • Menus as pages, editable by the owner
  • Click-to-call and enquiry form on every screen

Be found across the Fens, not just in Wisbech.

Catering is bought by place. The site is structured so the business appears for hog roast searches across the towns it serves, with an areas page, local wording on every page that earns it and the technical foundations search engines reward. Local SEO put a thirty-year-old business in front of people who had never heard of it.

  • Areas covered written as real content
  • Local structured data and consistent business details
  • Technical SEO: titles, sitemaps, speed, Search Console

What was delivered.

  • Full website buildDesign and WordPress build from a blank page, around the business’s photography, story and menus.
  • WordPressA lean custom theme with no page-builder bloat, so the site stays fast and the owner can edit it.
  • Menus and pricingMenu pages the owner updates, with options for every kind of event and dietary need.
  • Enquiry routeA clear booking process, contact form and click-to-call, visible on every page.
  • ReviewsCustomer reviews presented where they persuade, with the five-star hygiene rating alongside.
  • Local SEOAreas covered, local wording, structured data and consistent business details across the web.
  • Technical SEOTitles, descriptions, XML sitemap, redirects and Search Console from launch.
  • PerformanceImages sized per device and caching configured, so the site is quick on a phone at a venue.
  • HandoverA walkthrough so menus, photos and prices can be changed without a developer.

The result.

A website that finally matches the food.

A thirty-year reputation now works online as well as it does by word of mouth: visitors see the food, read the reviews, understand the process and enquire in a few taps.

With the local structure in place, the catering website shows up in towns across the Fens where nobody had recommended the business yet. Reputation, made findable.
